Position: Senior Big Data Developer
Location: Remote, USA
Type of Employment: Long Term Contract
Purpose of the Position:
To provide Big Data Engineering capacity to the customer. This position is critical for smooth onshore / offshore coordination and client interactions.The role involves providing hands on technical development and implementing best practices. Commitment to understand business data Insight and will be responsible for optimizing data storage. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and work with business users directly.
Key Result Areas and Activities:
Understand the media domain and come up with new insights
Data analysis is performed to work with business and BA to close on requirements and debug any UAT / prod issues
Answerable for AWS costs and services like s3, airflow, SES, EMR, EC2, spark, Scala, python, lambda, singlestore etc.
Supporting the existing application and working on user access requests for backend / frontend by following the security protocols
Optimizing AWS cloud resources
Working on Tableau / MSTR issues / upgrades and portal enhancements
Work and Technical Expertise:
Essential Skills:
7 to 9 years of IT Experience
2 to 3 years of AWS Cloud experience
2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in Scala, python, spark, lambda, airflow, EMR, SQL
Performance tuning and optimisation skills by using various techniques
Good and crisp communication skills
ETL warehousing advanced concepts
MSTR / Tableau intermediate level expertise
Experience in working in onshore / offshore model
Strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, Clustering, Database mirroring, Replication
Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools
Work independently based on the mentorship provided by managers
Experience with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework
Solid skills in decision-making, prioritization and negotiation
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (Master?s degree is a plus)
Demonstrated continued learning through one or more technical certifications or related methods
7 to 9 years of IT experience including 4 years of AWS cloud experience
